I came across this passage by Heidi Priebe recently that felt really useful to me. I thought I would share it in case it connects with you too:
“It is not always a refusal to grow that keeps us stuck, but a refusal to grieve.
Unprocessed pain about the past becomes unwarranted anxiety about the future.
Until we understand why things happened the way they did, until we find a way to look back with acceptance, the present remains frozen in a state of resistance. We become incapable of seeing the future for what it is – different. Unique. Filled with opportunities that are not coloured with the shades of old hurt.
What we don’t lay to rest follows us forward. But what we grieve and let go of builds the foundation for an incredible new pathway to emerge.”
