I am back at the wonderful East West Bookshop on February 18, 2021 in an ONLINE talk in which I will talk about energetic boundaries for highly sensitive people.
If you find yourself getting overwhelmed by other people’s feelings, if their anger or worry almost jump out at you & make it hard for you to say No, you’ll find this talk especially helpful.
You’ll especially enjoy this experiential talk if:
1. You tend to feel other people’s feelings in your own body.
2. You’re getting overwhelmed by all the energy that seems to be rushing at you.
3. You find it REALLY easy to tune into others, their needs & their expectations but really hard to tune into what you want.
4. You’re getting drained & finding it hard to fill up on energy, almost as if you’re a battery that isn’t able to charge.
5. You’re having recurring thoughts of “I wish I could just escape into my mind.”
Amongst other things, we’ll practice essential energetic skills like centering and grounding. These skills are embedded in many Eastern practices such as Yoga. You may have come across some of them before. But we will take these a step further & really understand what happens when we do these practices and why they may not have worked for you in the past.
What are energetic skills and why are they so essential for highly sensitive people?
Energetic skills are foundational. If we are always swamped with other people’s energy or feel their disapproval intensely in our own bodies, it can be extremely hard for us to say no & set limits with them.
Energetic skills help us stay embodied and connected to our own energy.
I have talked about energetic boundaries in detail here, and talked about the energetic skill of grounding in this piece on How do you stand your ground if you feel pushed around by other people’s feelings? and the energetic skill of centering in Are you highly sensitive & feel like you want to leave your body & float away?
I will be talking about these and three more essential energetic skills in this talk.
LOGISTICS:
If you can’t make it live, you’ll also get a recording of the talk after the event that you can view for a week afterwards.
Since the talk is online, you can participate from anywhere in the world. (Of course, if you wish to attend live, please remember to convert the 7 pm – 9 pm Pacific Time of the event to your own time zone to see if it’ll work for you.)
With love,
