If you are looking for gifts, here are some of my favorites. These are either things I have bought for myself, given to family & friends, or received & loved.
One of the best gifts I ever received was a 1-year Reader’s Digest subscription from an uncle. As a child, it was a cherished gift, not because of the cost but because it was so thoughtful and made me feel seen. Just in case you can’t spend much on gifts at the end of this hard year, I hope you remember this, that the truly memorable gifts are actually gifts of our attention.
For creatives, I love The Animal Wisdom Tarot cards (Bookshop, Amazon) and The Secret Language of Color Cards (Bookshop, Amazon) (I talk about these color cards & my other adventures with using colors in The Empath’s Journey ).
I recently bought an ebook version of the beautiful Bibliophile (Bookshop, Amazon) on sale after I saw it on BookBub, but this is a book that book lovers will really love in physical form. Check out this & my other book reviews on BookBub, which is a wonderful site for anyone who loves books.
Give Yourself a Gold Star is one of my favorite guided journals (Bookshop, Amazon) and The Curious Nature Guide (Bookshop, Amazon) is a beautiful, illustrated book for nature lovers.
I LOVE fellow kindred spirit Peg Cheng’s The Contenders as a gift for middle-grade children or for adults who love children’s books (it has a spunky little heroine)!
Some of the favorite gifts I have received include Scratch Art Notes (Bookshop, Amazon) for Ages 4 –104 :), The Little Prince Deluxe Pop-Up Book (Bookshop, Amazon) which is one of my favorite books EVER & also talks about love and losing who you love in a way that I think will make sense to children, and What It Is (Bookshop, Amazon), Lynda Barry’s beautiful book about the creative process.
So, these were a few of my favorites. I hope you have a great holiday season. We all need a respite at the end of this year and whether you celebrate it with physical gifts or in some other way, I wish this holiday season is nourishing and replenishing for you.
With love,
Ritu
